CRLP Program

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
I am thrilled to announce that we will have 7th thru 10th grade CRLP program next year. The
CRLP candidates will be selected based on their GPA, discipline records, and the faculty
council’s votes. Throughout the year, there will be several events such as weekly in school
meetings, college trips, overnight study programs, and international trip.
The meetings will be once a week, right after school. We will study Math, advanced vocabulary
and an independent reading program with pre-selected books.

AP & PLTW Student-Parent Information Meeting

Dear HSD Parents / Students,

If your child is considering enrolling in an Advance Placement (AP) course or Principles

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students;
HSD is a STEM School, due to this recognition students are required to complete a PBL assignment over the summer. This assignment is to give you the opportunity to be creative and have fun while learning. These PBL’s include Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science. Please remember that these assignments are a major grade and are due on the first week of school for 2015-2016 school year.

On April 29, 2015 four students attended the Society of Women Engineers Awards Banquet for the Houston Area: Juliana Judge, Sarah Nguyen and Leila Akhavan who received a certificate of Merit & Achievement and guest Gema Garcia.
Keynote speaker: Bonnie J. Dunbar (Ph.D., NAE, RSECorr). Dr. Dunbar is the M.D. Anderson Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the UofH, serving as the Director of the "UH STEM Center" and Director of the Aerospace Engineering Graduate Program and SICSA Space Architecture Programs. She was a NASA astronaut, flying 5 Space Shuttle flights, logging more than 50 days in space.
