First of all, I would like to thank you for your participation to the high school readiness night. It was our pleasure to see our outstanding parents’ involvement and support. I hope you enjoyed the mini test by the end of my presentation to force your understanding of graduation requirements, endorsements, college acceptance criteria and future career.
As mentioned in my presentation, House Bill 5 requires each student to connect to a personal graduation plan that leads to an endorsement. This process requires a district to consider the importance in using programs of study and the personal graduation plan, collaboratively, to satisfy current and prior legislation.
The personal graduation plan is a working document used by counselors to track student completion of graduation requirements. It is a tool used to document grades, assessments, acceleration, and other requirements in law. The personal graduation plan is an opportunity for students and counselors to meet individual needs. The use of the program of study and personal graduation plan is necessary to ensure desired outcomes for college and career readiness.
Students are currently taking Naviance MI Advantage assessment. They will be taking Career Cluster Finder assessment on Monday. Front office staff will contact with the parents who have not scheduled a 30 minutes parent-counselor meeting.
Please make sure you carefully review 2015-2016 Course Selection Guide before you come to the meeting.
Thanks for your cooperation and support.

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954.
HSD would like to thank all who has served in the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice. Thank you for the Veterans who attend today's activities and for Cy-Woods High School JROTC for the flags today.
